Bec Grulke ... Owner/Principal/Director
Bec began her dance training at an early age where she studied various styles of dance. Due to the constant moving of her family, she has gained the skill of being able to interpret the different techniques of various teachers. Through many years of schooling , Rebekah excelled in the area of drama which has furthered her experience with emoting in the performance of dance. Bec completed a 2 year full time dance course, during this she was introduced to contemporary dance and different ways of connecting through the body. During her full time training, Bec was asked to perform as a soloist in PROJECTion Dance Company’s tour to New Zealand. In December 2010, Rebekah graduated from her 2 year course and was offered a contract with PROJECTion Dance. Bec's favourite style of dance is Lyrical. Many of her troupes and soloists have had incredible results with eisteddfods and competitions throughout the region and down near Melbourne. She loves working with children and sharing her passion for all thing dance.
Ren Wyatt ... Head Coach - HDS Storm Competitive Cheerleading
Ren started dancing when she first moved to the Albury Wodonga area at age thirteen, by age fifteen she was studying dance full time. After completing two years of full time training including a placement at Unitec University in Auckland, New Zealand, Working on collaborative films with DISassemble and working as a featured dancer with Jessica Mauboy & 7/11. Ren started cheering in the first year of Bandettes cheerleading at HDS and then went on to dance in the advanced program. After moving to the ACT, Ren started competing for Sirens Cheerleading. In late 2013 Ren started taking workshops in acrobatics, tumbling and cheerleading for HDS and in 2014 moved back to Albury to start her own competitive cheerleading program for HDS, she also took over Bandettes cheerleading and is also head coach for La Trobe University Cheer.
Olivia Scholz ... Teacher
Dance has been a major part of Olivia since she was 12. Olivia has been competing at local competitions throughout the years and excels in all styles. She loves the relationships and support she receives from either the mums or students. There is nothing she adores more than seeing someone succeed and being so proud of how they danced. Olivia hopes one day to move into personal training and nutrition for her studies. Her favorite thing to teach is conditioning along with contemporary, because there is no feeling better than do a routine with a meaning and a connection within the music and moves.
Elli Knobloch ... Teacher/HDS Role Model
I’ve Been dancing at Hume Dance School for three years. When I moved to HDS I knew I wanted to start teaching. I started student teaching with Bec in 2017 and that’s when I released I wanted to do it as a living.
Previously I danced at RAPA for 10 years until I decided to explore for more opportunity’s.
I received the HDS role model award in 2017 as well as completing my Certificate 2 in dance. I’m currently studying towards my cert 3 at Wodonga Senior Secondary College along with my VCE.
I have completed up to grade 3 RAD ballet exams and about to start my intermediate exam.
In the 12 years I have danced, I have trained and competed in Jazz, Hiphop, Modern, Lyrical, Classical Ballet, Neo Classical, Demi Character, Tap, Musical Theatre and Contemporary.
Early this year I will be heading to Florida, America to perform at Disney World and onboard a Royal Caribbean Cruise. I’ll be also attending workshops though out this amazing experience.
I look forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge to all the students of HDS.
Eva Medcraft ... Teacher
Eva started dancing at the age of 5, being at many different dance schools until the age of 11, where she finally found a home at HDS. Eva has since spent the last 8 years creating the best memories and friendships and growing immensely as a dancer and a person. Her favourite style of dance is hip hop as everyone has their own individual take on it with zero barriers. Eva has also become quite passionate about the contemporary style as it expresses emotions and tells stories through choreography. Eva started teaching at HDS in 2017 as a student teacher and absolutely loved getting to know all the wonderful students at Hume. Eva's goal is to keep building on her own skills as a teacher and choreographer and to inspire other dancers to find their own style and break through the barriers of dance.
Yvette Hawkins ... Teacher
Dancing has been a huge part of Yvettes life for the past 20+ years. Her favourite styles are Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She loves that it brings people together and lifelong friendships can be made. Outside of dancing, Yvette is a librarian. The past 2 years teaching at Hume for Yvette has been a blast and she cannot wait to see what great this all the students will do.
